Advent by Candlelight is a gift for all women to gather for a time of spiritual reflection on the significance & beauty of the Advent season. The evening consists of festive tables set by volunteer hostesses, an Advent reflection with a speaker, music, & of course delicious potluck food & fellowship. This is a wonderful opportunity to prepare our hearts & minds for Advent while enjoying the company of other women.

All women are invited to attend either as a hostess or as an individual for open seating. Feel free to invite your friends & family for a beautiful & fun evening! Cost is $10 per person.
6:00 pm: Doors open
6:30 pm: Hors d’oeuvres at tables
7:15 pm: Speaker ~ Mary Wilkerson
7:50 pm: St. Augustine's Choir
8:15 pm: Desserts & socialize
9:00 pm: Evening concludes & clean up

Biography
Mary Wilkerson is one half of the ministry pair from BOLD MINISTRIES. Mary holds a BA in Theology with a Religious Education focus. She has ministered in the Archdiocese of Detroit for over 20 years in a variety of different capacities.
Mary uses a unique blend of humor, Scripture and story telling to invite a deeper understanding of discipleship. She currently teaches Theology at Divine Child High School. Mary's greatest blessing is raising her five children with her best friend and husband, Aaron.
Register online(You do NOT need to provide the names of your guests)
Table hostesses register & pay online for their table(s). It's suggested that table guests pay the hostess $10 each to contribute to the overall table cost. Only hostesses will register & pay online (not invited guests at the table) for the reserved table(s).
Please pay per person
Round table (60-inch table): seats 6 - 7 people
Rectangular table (8 ft table): seats 8 - 10 people
Table type depends on how many people you register & the Events Team will email you a table type confirmation prior to the event
Information
Invite women to your table(s) or coordinate with a group to fill your table(s)
Assign 1-2 people per table to bring dessert(s) for the potluck desserts table (ea. serve 12+ people)
Coordinate which guests are bringing beverages & food for your table (coffee/tea/water provided)
Table name: create a unique or fun name for your table (displayed at your table)
Decide the table theme & decorate either on your own or with your table guests
Provide a tablecloth of any type for your table(s) + appropriate number of place settings (plates, napkins, silverware, wine & water glasses, coffee cups/saucers)
TIP: Bring a small side table (i.e. card table) to set up next to your table for your food
Bring a beverage for yourself &/or to share with table guests. (wine, pop, punch, etc.)
Bring a potluck dish (hors d’oeuvres) to serve 8-10 table guests
Optional: Bring a dessert for potluck desserts table
Tables
Open seating tables will be provided with a simple centerpiece along with simple tableware
If you'd like to coordinate an "open table" of individuals (decorating it, coordinating food & tableware), please note this when you register. The Event Team will place individuals at your table for you. If you're open to this, someone from the Event Team will contact you closer to the event to help review this with you.
Rectangular table (8 ft table): seats 8 - 10 people
For 10 people, 4 sit on each side + 1 on each end

Centerpieces
Advent / Christmas poems or small table favors for each place setting
Feel free to be as creative or as simple as you want. Some use fine China while others use festive paper plates. Some choose elaborate center pieces, some contribute Advent / Christmas poems or little mementos for each place setting while others just bring the necessities.
Bring Good(s) for Active Faith
We are asking for canned goods to donate to Active Faith. Please drop off your canned food donations on the tables outside of the gym entrance when you arrive.
You may also drop off your donations the night prior while hostesses are decorating their tables from 5 - 7 pm. Thank you!
We appreciate contributions to help make this event possible since this is sponsored by Women of Mary. Your generosity will help defray costs (i.e. speaker, decorations, supplies & promotional materials).
